Electrical Stimulation

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS), Interferential Current Therapy (IFC) and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) are therapies that involve the application of a comfortable electrical current by placing pads on or around an injured area or muscle.  The electrical current can be used to block nerve impulses for acute pain management or to stimulate the release of the body's natural endorphins for pain suppression.  Electrical muscle stimulation can also help reduce inflammation following an injury, to relieve muscle spasm or for muscle strengthening and rehabilitation.
